RESQTAP - Emergency System for a Disabled Community
An inclusive Android emergency response system designed to empower individuals with speech and hearing impairments (deaf and mute) to summon immediate help through one-tap SOS dispatch, real-time GPS tracking, and digital medical ID, without relying on verbal calls.
Traditional emergency response systems rely heavily on voice calls, which severely disadvantage individuals with speech and hearing impairments (mute and deaf communities), as well as victims in situations where making noise could be dangerous.
ResQTap solves this by providing a unified Native Android mobile client backed by a real-time Google Firebase infrastructure and web administration portal. The application allows users to trigger immediate non-verbal SOS alerts with a single tap, simultaneously streaming live high-accuracy GPS telemetry and essential medical information (such as blood type, allergies, and chronic conditions) directly to designated emergency contacts, responders, and synchronized incident crisis rooms.
Built with safety-critical reliability in mind, ResQTap incorporates advanced biometric authentication, offline-resilient caching, automated SMS dispatch, and a covert duress safeguard system designed to quietly send emergency signals if an individual is forced to unlock their device under coercion.

The Challenge
Conventional emergency helplines and reporting workflows fundamentally rely on verbal communication and manual location descriptions. This presents critical vulnerabilities: 1.
